Station Cattle Market Steady
An alnmdaiice of feetl over the countryside did not move grazi^rs to compete -actiVely- for the rather large offering of cattle at yesterday's live stock sale in Feilding. Oa the other hand vendors showed little inclination ,to reduee their limits with 'the result quite a number of pens were passed in to become the subject of private treaty. Saies made under the hammer' were in line with late rates although prices for good lines of forward bullocks were up on the best price real*ised last week. Saies for this class of cattle were made at £18 9s to £18 12s and these were lines ready to top off. Other lines not so forward but' in good order althougli inclined to vary in size made to £3 /. Even but by no means big 3-year cattle sold from £15 6s to £16 14s. Feuiablines sold on a strengthening tone according to condition. Fat sheep prices show little niovement, hoggets showing a slight appireciation 011 a market oll'er ing quite good quality. Two-tooth wethers frftm Gisborne, quite big siiue] in good order, sold to 37s 4d. In other departments there was no change. Fat Sheep. Fat sheep saies exceeded those .of the previous week by approximately 10u head, the total disposed ot being. 499.' Compared with the previous week the average values were, wethers 38s 4d, reprosenting an easing of 8d, hoggets 38s representing a lirmiug of Sd aml ewes 24s 8d on a par. The overall quality was very even and the only sheep not wanted were a couple of peus ot Down cross 2-ths. Store Sheep. With outside saies for good qmllity 2-tli wethers being recorded at up to 39s, the market for store sheep registered a firming only because there were oue or two pens oi' reallv good wethers possessing size and condition. Wel: grown ex-Gisborne 2-th wethers whi-h were easily the best oll'ering in a sinai 1 yarding, commanded top prices. The saies were: 2-tli wetlievs, 90 at 30s 9d, 90 at 37s 4d, 91 at 37s, 10 at 34s, 14 at 34s lOd; Down cross 2-ths, 34 at 36s 4d, 73 at 36s 9d, 87 at 3-ls ld, 19 at 34s Od, 11 at 35s; 2-th ewes (only pen varded), 56 at 35s 2d.

A.A. heifers, in clean order but small was passed at £11 10s and Bhort and Son's pen of 50 A.A. bullocks, mosth big framed but including a few stunted sorts, was passed in at £16 17s Od.
