Mr. D. Newman, spent the weekend with, Mr. T. Newton, Otara Road. Mr. L, Lee, of Palmerston North, visited his , mother, Mrs. Lee, Vance Street, over the weekejad. ,, Mrs. =E. ' oggs, of ' Palmerston North, has been spending a few days with her sister, .Mrs. E. Retter, Newtown. At a me'ting of the Shannon Sports Club on Monday evening, the president, Mr. S. W. Barber, paid tribute to two old and value'd members of tne club whose deaths had taken place since the ' last meeting of the /club. They were the late Messrs. J. Procter and R. Hayes. Those present stood in silence as a mark of respect. Members of the Wellington Tin Hat Club who spent the weekend in Shannon following the R.S.A. annual reunion were Messrs. 'Morrison, Jones, MOrris, Baybutt (president) , Tahiwi and Wood. They were the guests of Messrs. J. T. Bovis, Stout Street, H. D. Ait-/ chison, Margaret Street, F. O. Burtt, Plimmer Terrace, S. W. Barber and L. Carter, Moutoa.
