The meetings will commence at 6.30 p.m. and this evening a tous will be bringing - competitors from Levin. . A good attendance of the public is expected. Domain Improvement 1 In the short period in which it has been operating, the Shannon Domain Improvement COmmittee has done wonders in improving the playing area of the domain. The grass is completely cut and a working bee from the Shannon Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club has made an excellent track. It is indeed pleasing to see the interest which is being taken in all fields of sport by the young. people of the town.

Harvesting Commences Farmers of the district are taking advantage of the ideal weather conditions to commence harvesting, and haymowers are busy on many farms. Quite a few of the farmers are employing harvesting contractors, who, with their up-to-date equipment, undertake everything . from cutting the hay to pressing it ready to he stacked. This does away with the many days of hard work usually associated with harvesting a few years ago.
