Conciliation Commission Without Plan
Reeeived Saturday, 12.45 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 3. Reuter says when the United Nation 's major political committee renumed its Palestine debate today Mr. .Fohn Hood (Australia) proposed the cstahlishment of a drafting sub-commit-tee to prepare a resolution tQ. clear up the confusion arising from yesterday ;s voting. Mr. Hood said the sub-coinmittee would draw up the text for instructions to be given to the conciliation commission whieh the committee yesterday agreed to send to Palestine. Mr. Hood suggested that the drafting sub-commit-tee should consist of those countries who had made proposals on Palestine 's future— Britain, the United States, Russia, Australia, Guatemala, Colombia, Svria and Poland. The committee rejectod Mr. Hood's proposal, but by 42 votes to 2 with1 12 abstentions adopted the United States' resolution to send a conciliation compassion to Palestine without a precise plan for an ArabJewish settlement, but witli a mandate to take steps to assist the .Tews anl Arabs to settle all outstanding problems.
