Mr. Haliburton Johnston^ who won the Raglan seat in 'a by'election in 1946 and lost it to Mr. 'A. C. Baxter (Labour) in the gen'eral election of the same year will 'again be the National Party can•didate for the Raglan seat at the 'next general election. This was decided when the selection com•mittee of the electorat-e' heard •addresses by three candidates. Messrs. Johnstone, F. L. Onion and --c. ju. Kamsey. Trlbutes to the work of Mr. E. R. Myers in the position of director of pharmacy during the operation of •ohe sociai secunty scheme were 'paid when a dinner party was held '.n his honour on Tuesday.- Mr. 'Myers, whose retirement took 'effect on JSg&gday, will take up residence ;|MMjLevin'.
