Two magples attacksd and _ sc 'severely injured a bian walklng hear a belt of macrocarpa trees at Mangateretere, 11 miles southwest from Napier, that he had to be taken to hospital for medical treatment. The assault. lasted neveral minutes and was concentrated on the man's-face and head, "each magpie taking it in turns to dive down, screaming. '
