AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. A small firo in No. 2 hold was quickly detecie.d and smartly extinguished during the voyago, bv the. erew of W. R. Carpenter Ltd 's. 4873-ton stcamer Buva which arrived at Auckland this morning from ftydney. Bteel and hardivood ])oles in the hold were slightly damaged by fire and water. The Buva had 14 passengers and an Austfalian cargo whieh ineluded fruit. Oue of the passengers said it was believed the fire was started by a cigarette butt falling through a ventilator. rmmediately after the fire a notice was displayed warning passengers not to try to tkrow eigarette butts overboard,
