EFFORTS TO MAINTAIN PEACE
Received Monday, 12.31 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 14. The British plan to extend the Security Council 's cease iire order from Negev to the noftherp areas of the Holy Land, comes before the Security Council tomorrow, says the Associated Press Paris correspondent. The Council will also consider a plan by the interim mediator, Dr. Bunche, that the Arabs and Jews be asked to strive to arrange an armistice to replace the shattered truce in Palestine. Dr. Bunche is l>elieved to have drawn up provisional demarcation lines and will demand that the Jews withdraw to the positions they occupied on October 15 when their Negev drive began. The Egyptians would be held largelv to their present positions thus c.reating a no man's land between the forces. Pnited Nations truce observers would eontrol air and land coinniunications into Negev. Dr. Bunch'e 's plan was approved by the Seven Nations Palestine Commission of the Security Council yesterday. In Palestine itself yesterday the Truce Commission - charged ' both tsrael and Iraq with serious truce breach.es.
