AUCKLAND, Nov. 10. The most serious tramways hold up in 20 years occurred in Auckland today. Early shoppers, anticipating- the tramwaymen's stapwork meeting, invaded incoming trams at the peak traific hours and two^power stoppages paralysed thp Onehunga route for an hour. O11 this line many workers were delayed.

The last inward runs from the long distance outer terminals before th£ stopwork meeting opened at the Playhouse Theatre, Karangahape Road, were made shortly after 9 a.m. Trams not running to the depqts halted in Queen Street, or at the safety zones and elsewhere, and citizens went about their business in the rain. This was the first tramwaymen's stopwork meeting ever held in Auckland. '
