Navy As Impromptu Fire Brigade
AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. A ilphery patrol ves.se I of the JRoyal New Zealand Navy was hurriedly converted to the role of fire tender when flanies swept through a large twostoreyed house in Bon Accord Bay, Kawau, early this morning. As soon as the fire was seen in Mansion House Bav, a fire fighting party was taken' to Bon Accord Harbour in a fishery patroi laiinch commanded by Lieutenant G. . Holden. Equipped with foam extinguishers, the crew of the vessel and their civilian assistants conld do nothing to save the fiame enveloped building but they prevented the tii'e from gaining a hold in the. near by scrub and bush.
