Severn Killed When Negro Runs Amok

Received Sunday, 7 p,m. NEW YORK, Nov. 6. A - Negro shot and killed sevqn persons, wQunded four and then killed himself today at Cliester, Pennsylvania. The police said the Negro, Alelvin Collins, aged 38, leaped from a motor car in the bpsy industrial section of Cliester, killed a detective with a rifie, then firing wildly at the crowd, baeltetl down the street and rau into a building where hq barricaded himself in a roqm on the second floor. The polide sprayed the building with revolver and submacfiinegun fire and threw teargfts bombs into the room. Then as they rpn upstairs to capture him, Collins shot himself. . All except one of the victiips were Negroes. One vietim was a deaf mnte who was shdeked into speaking. He staggered to the police car and gasped: "I have been shot."
