Paraparaumu Notes
(From "Chronicle" Correspondent) The Paraparaumu Beach branch of St. Paul's Anglican Church recently heid an afternoon bring-and-buy party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Cheethman. In spite of it being a very boisterous afternoon, there was a very fair attendance and good results were obtained. Several competitions were held and these proved very enjoyable. The contents of an observation tray of goods were successfully listed by Mrs. W. WhiteScott, who also sat in the lucky chair and was thus awarded another prize. Miss D. Cobb was awarded the lucky tea cup, and the serving of afternoon tea closed a jolly party. The Raumati community hall was the venue for a sale of work recently under the auspices of the | Community Raumati Club. This 'proved a very successful function ja^o, the various tables being well patronised. A very enjoyable dance | followed" in the evening to wind up Iproceedmgs, when the winners of | the numerous competitions were announced. Whitebait has been running well in the district and the rivers have yielded many good catches lately.
