Tuberculosis Bill Needed Redrafting
WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. A suggestion that the Tuberculosis Bill needed redrafting as it enthroned vaccination, as a cure and preventive which was against the judgmeht ' of world authorities, was made by Hon. W. Grounds in the Legislative Council today. He said the only way to, deal with tuberculosis was to prevont infeetion aud that eould be doue only by developing resistahce and providing good food and good houses. Bteps for isolation aud waniings were ridiculous in view of the ubiquity of the disease. The Health Hepartment had evaded responsibility as the Bill said only those who volunteered for vaccination would be dealt with. Hon. T. Bloodworth said he feared the clause requiring doctors to notify the disease would send the disease underground.
