Communist Spy Ring Alleged
Received Thursday, 9.45 p.m. i CANBERRA, Nov. 4. Opposition members today declared that a Communist spy ring was operating in Australia and the Communist leaders of the miners were conspiring to keep the whole of the nation 's fuel supplies under their immediate day to day control. The Acting Jl,eader of the Opposition, Mr. Harrison, moved a censure motiou on the Government based on its refusal to admit or denv allegations of United States' distrust of Australia on scientific defence information and its failure to take effective steps to combat tlra menace of the Communists. Mr. Fadden, Leader of the Country Party, called on the Government to take positive action to end the coal strike. The Minister of Defence, Mr. Dednian, said Australia was not undertaking research on atomic energy on the defense side and had ne\*er sought information on atomic energy from United States and eonsequently had never been denied it. The censure motion was lost on the voices.
