Move to Oppose Conscription
DUNEDIN, Nov. 4. Adopting the name "Civil Liberfy Proteetion Association," 40-odd people, mostlv representing Labour and union groups, set a campaign against peacetinie conscription in motion at a meeting in Dunedin toniglit. The meeting was held following similar movements in other niain centres but it is underwood that Dunedin is the first organisation in the field with a definite title. Oificers were elected and a provisional constitution was agreed upon and it was decided that the organisation sliould be a "loose" one and open to any delegates, or iudividuals who wanted.to attend.- An approach will be raade to other interested organisations and a programme laid down at another meeting in the near future.
