Borough By-Laws May Have To Be Revised
v The works committee of the Levin Borough Council has been instructed to investigate the possible revision of the borough bylaws. The necessity for this was pointed out by Cr. W. Telford at , the fortnightly meeting of the council when certain, difficulties in regard to building breaches were being discussed. It was pointed out by the building inspector, Mr. H. T. Tilyard that none of the builders had copies of the standard by-laws, but were still operating -under the.old ones. It was also pointed out that while there was no town planriing scheme in operation,. loopholes existed in -regard to building. "Do you think that we cou'd amend certain by-laws- without upgetting the public?" asked the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, of Mr. Tilyard.' The inspector replied that he thought this could be done.
