At the Trinity College of Music examination conducted in Levin recently, Phyllis Robinson, pupil of Mrs. E. M. Coleman, was successful in gaining the intermediate division in pianoforte with 81 marks (merit) . The services of Mr. Anderson Tyrer in connection with the National Orchestra will be continued for a further twelve months. This was announced by the Minister of Broadcasting, Mr. Jones. last night, who added that the decision had been made in view of the heavy programme envisaged for the orchestra during the coming season, particularly its co-operatjon with such bodies as the Auckland MuSic Council in the presentation of its musical festival next winter and the visit to secondary centres which had not yet seen the orchestra^ •
