Swimming Season Opens The swimming season in Levin began on Tuesday, when the Coronation Baths were opened. With the water registering a temperature of about 63 /degrees — flve degrees warmer than was recorded on the same day last year — there were about 18 people present to take the first plunge. A few went in quickiy with a confidence based on atmospheric temperatures and then swiftly returned to the side to recover their breath. But the Initial ducking was the worst and throughout Tuesday and yesterday the baths were well patronised, particularly by school children. According to the custodian, Mr. F. Taylor, the past two days have seen more enthusiasts in the baths than at any opening since the fceginning of the war.
