Used Milk Crate To Smash In Door
AUCKLAND, Xov. 1. Two plate glass windows, a plate glass door and a large number of milk bottles, were smashed when a man broke and entered Ihe premises of John Burns Ltd. in Customs Btreet Fast, shortly after 7— o'clock tonight, The sound of breaking glass attracted the attention of several people and the police were notiiied. The police found two windows broken and the door smashed. A milk crate was lying npside down in the doorway of the premises. Partly tiroken bottles were inside the crate and the remaining bottles were scattored in the doorway and over the footpath. The intruder had used the milk crate and itsVontests, first to smash the windows and tlien to break in the door. Tho crate had been thrown down by the intruder before he entered the bmlding. Policemen went in-to the building and a man was found in one of the offiees on ihe ground floor, Iie was arrested and taken to the Queen's Wharf police statioffi The arrested man will appear in the Magistrate 's Court tomoiTOW. No estimate of the damage eould be given tonight.
