There has been 2| inches of rain in the last 24 hours and it is still raining, At Wanaka 3-01 inches were recorded for the 24 hours up to 8 a.m, and at Makarora Wharf 5.09 inches fell in the same period. At Alexandra the river was 19 feet above normal and is still rising. The Kaitangata telephone exchange has been instructed to observe continuous attendapce until further notice.
