The aniiual general meeting of the* Manawatu Boating Club wasi held recently and a large number of members were present from the aistrict. Mr. L. K. Andrews CpresL dent) oeeupied the c'hair and preSented his annual report. ' "The cluh has had a busy season and judging by the number iof new members and boats, will be hringr ing Foxton Beach into a prominent position as a boating eentre," said the president. . With the establishment of the new clubhouse, the club will be holding numerous sailing and motor boat regattas. 'The annual river race from the Fitzherbert Bridge to the Manawatu Heads will be held1 again this year and many entrants will he competing. This race is credited with "being the longest of its kind dn the world, and last year created great interest among the general public." /
