The Western nations, including United States, ' ' cannot alford to keep out of Spain because of Franco 's alleged misdeeds years ago," said the fornter chairman of the United States Democratic national committee, Mr. Farley, according to tlie Dailv Telegraph 's Lisbon correspondent. "Spain is ready to light the Russians on tlie Pyrenees. That is a Rufijcient guarantee of good faith. Also Franco kept Spain neutral and -even connived at the Allies' Xorth African landing. "
