Britain Supports Partition Of Palestine
Received Monday, 10.20 am. CAIRO, Oct. 10. Followinig a meeting with the Egyptian Prime Minister, Nokrashy Pasha, Britain's acting Ambassador, Mr. Chapman. Andrews, said that the British Government wanted to see a strong A'rab Government in Palestine to "keep the Jews to their fence," says the Associated Press' correspondent. . He added that the British Government supported partition! un'der Cou-nt Bernadotte's plan and the present Palestine situation would ,only benefib the Jews and warmongers. Mr. Ah-dreiws added that Britain would welcome any Egyptian approach for a resumption- of negotiations to revise the 1936 Treaty of Alliance between the two countries. However, with the present international situation it was not suitaible to talk in puiblic about the withdraiwal of British troops from the Sitez panal Zone.
