A large. assembly is again expected this year. Robbed Of £245 While asleep on Thursday night a 'guest in a hotel in Auckland was robbed of a wallet containing £245 in banknotes. He was a business man from a northern town who had -left his trousers folded on a chair at the foot of the bed with his wallet in the hip pocket. Awakening at 4 o'clock he switched on the light to see the time and noticed the door wide open. His trousers were disarranged and the wallet was missing. He notified the licensee who informed the police. Detectives began im&estigations immediately. Army There had been 244 applications in Britain up to September 28 for entry into t'he New Zealand regular force, stated the Army Department yesterday. As only 250 men are required, the United Kingdom authorities expect that applications will exceed the number rieeded. This will necessitate rigorous selection.
