The lifting of the meat ratipning has made little apparent difr ference to local butchers, who reiterate thaf the price of meat todav is prohibitive. Levin is in a .more fortqnate position than . other centres in regard to deliveries to householders, it being learnt t'hat local butchers deliyered meat despite the' high wages which they had to pay delivery boys today. It was very hard to find boys willing to apprentice themselves to ^the trade, said one butcher, and eyen more so to find delivery boys. Some butchers 'deliyered on alternative days in the town a^eas besides their country rounde.
