Dunedin Women Form Pipe Band
Dunedin women 'hav.e at last li-ved up to , -the expectations of their jS.cottjsh ancestors. They have founded a pipe band, complete with bl.ack Balmoral bonnets with r.e.d "toories," and kilts of bright dress Stuart tar-tan. Sin.ce the idea was first suggested by a w'ell known piper, ' Mr. N.eil Munro, last Npvember, the members of the .Dunedin Ladies' Scottish Pipe Band 'have already b.e.come proficient, though" onl'y two had any previous experience. At present. thgre .are .eight playing members, four drummers and a drum-major, Miss Helen Mac Kenzie, but it is expected the band will soon be -2,0 strong.
