ALLKLAND, Oet: 6. A sliarp rise in prices for beef was noted at the Westfield stock market when a small yarding was oft'ered. There was keen demand for beef and auctioneer quotations rose by 4s to 5s a 1001b. Thes'e in&reases were exceeded in some cases of light weight good quality beef. A large number of sheep was penne4 and although there wds a steady d^ mand, prices eased on those ruling at the, previous week's sale.' A good yarding of ealves met a ready demand but values generally were a shade lower. There was a light yarding of pigs. Pork sold freely but bacon was a little easier. High prices were paid for the few sfores .offered. Spring lambs sold from £2 10s to £2 lSs 9d. Cattle. Extra choice ox to £3 15s per 1001b, choice and prinip £3 12s t.Q £3 14s, ordinary £3 7s to £3 11s. Extra prime young cow and heifer to £3 10s per 1001b, choice and prime £3 7s to £3 9s, ordinary cow beef £2 18s to £3 6s. Extra heavy prime steers £30 to £32 17s 6d, heavy £28 to £29 l?s 6d, medium £25 to £27'l?s 6d, light £20 to £24 17s 6d, small and unfinished £15 to £19 17s 6d. Extra heavy prinie cow and heifer £19 to £20 17s 6d, hea.vy £17 to £18 17s 6d, medium £14 to £16 17s 6d, light £11 to £L3 17-s 6d, small and unfinished £7 to £10 17s 6d. Sheep. Extra heavy prime wethers, £2 19s to £3 Qs. 6d, heavy £2 16s to £2 18s 9d, medium £2 13s to £2 15s, light and prime £2 6s 9d to £2 12s 6d, plain and unfinished £2 to £2 6s 6d.
