Watts (St. Alliuus, Opposition) gave notice to usk the Acting I'rime Minister if the (fo\ ernment 's iittention had been drawn to the statement of the Hon F. lliiekett re])orted in today 's papers, to ihe effect that the Government had no intention of soeialising transport iu'jjistrv. Ile asked if the Government would nvake a eategorical statement as to whether it had renounced its policy of socialisaf ion of the means of distribution and substituted therefore, as its primaiy objeet, the retention of oftiee.
