Bright Wrestling For End Season

Earl McCready, 17 stone ' wreStler from Canada, proved one honk too many for Negro Jack Clayboume, 16i stone, in the final mgtch of tfie season at Palmerston North, on Saturday. The bout was one of the' brightest seen in the eity for sbme time. The Earl won by two falls to one. , • Jumping Jack made himself Objeetionable to the Canadian from the first gong, but The Earl was slow to take o%nce. "Honk" said McCready loudly as Clayboume tossed him nonehalantly across the top rope, and he said it again. a moment or so later when Jumping Jack- jumped to advantage and lovingly applied a homicidal strangle with his legs., The Earl appeared to be annoyed and kicked his way out, only to fall foul of the same legs in the same place. "Honk," said McCready again. He picked the Negro up and tried to ram him head first through the floor of the ring but only succeeded in denting the woodwork. Claybourne came up and charged The Earl through the ropes' to the accompaniment of numerous honks. Down to the mat went Claybourne in a short arm scissors while hundreds of women screamed in ecstacy. "Snap it off Mac," screamed an unspoilt girl through the ropes as The Earl began snipping with a short arm scissors, but he did not get the chance because Jumping jack Claybourne had crabbed his way out of trouble. No one heard what The Earl said, but Claybourne slapped his face and followed it up with .as -pretty a straight left as anyohe could hope to see. Claybourne threw The Earl around more than somewhat with four forward headiocks and a reverse headlock. He was bringing the Canadian to his feet for a sixth dose When something happened to his legs and he found himself uneomfortably seated in The Earl's rolling rocking chair splits. A fall to The Earl. The Canadian grinned and went after the Negro when the gong went. He went right into Claybourne's corner, but came out agadn in a hurry with two wellshod feet under his chin. They were in the same place when he got to his feet, and after two more he decided it was time for a rest, With over 16 stone on top of him he did not have a lot of option and Jumping Jack with no more chins to jump at, jumped with joy. One each apiece all round. After this McCready was rampant. He threw the Negro to the mat and kept him there with a promising-looking figure four leg scissors . "Don't, don't, don't," pleaded Jumping Jack. "Honk," said McCready when a black fist landed Somewhere in the region of his beit buckle. Honk, honk, honk, he said' again as three joltsknocked him all silly-like. He tried to be reasonable but received another headache when Claybourne used his head as a battering-ram. He got no forrader when Jumping Jack knocked him back with another punch in the buckle. "Gah," said The Earl when Jack met him in his corner and dealt out a - stiff portion of jolting. "Gup," answered Claybourne as a fist 'landed somewhere in his midriff. He changed this to "ha ha" when the ref eree warned McCready for using his fist. The Earl picked him up again and the Negro nose-dived and crumpled over on one wing for the Canadian to expire on top of him for a fall.
