- Received Monday, 7 p.m. WASHINGTON, Oct. 3. The Air Force announced today , that a helicopter as big as aircraft at present. supplying Berlin, and carrying a detachable capsule attachment the size of a large passenger, bus, is being developed. It .will have a speed of more than 100 miles hourly, a range of about 200 miles and a payload of 6000 lbs. It will be used 1 as a supplier and assault vehicle, and air ambulance for mass . rescues. The detachable section can be preloaded at the point of origin and instantly detached at the destination. The plane will have two rotary wings mounted in tandem.
