Guests For Marching Ball
4, Under the patronage of the, Un-der-Secretary of Internal Affairs, Mr. A. G. Harper, and Mrs. Harper, Lieut-Colonel G. P. O'Leary, O.B.E., President of the New Zealand Association, and the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Burdekin, the Horowhenua MarchLig Association's second annual plain and fancy dress ball, to be held in the Regent Hall next Friday ^ night, promises to be one of the outstanding social events of the dancing season. Owing to pfessure of Ministerial duties, the Hon. W. E. Parry is unable to be present, but other visitors invited are Mr. J. J. Maher, M. P., and Mrs. Maher, Mr. M. H. Oram, M.P., patron of the Manawatu Centre, and Mrs. Oram, Mr. H. Podmore, patron of the Horowhenua Association, and Mrs. Podmore, Mr. C. F. Atmore, Mayor of Otaki, and Mrs. Atmore, Mr. D. ,Fitzgerald, Mayor of Shannon, and Mrs. Fitzgerald, Mr. and Mrs. Rangi Logan, of Otane, and members of the executive of the New Zealand Association. One of the highlights of the evening will be the preservation of Horowhenua teams to Mr. and Mrs. Harper and Lieut-Colonel p'Leary. An invitation to teams in Feilding, Bulls and Bunnythorpe has also been extended to take part in this ceremony, and they have signified their intention of being present if the necessary transport can b.e arranged. Immediately following this, the grand march will take place and the fancy costumes. will be judged by Lieut-Colonel O'Leary. Another innovation will be the supplying of the music for the grand march by two pipers and a drummer from Horowhenua Fipe Band. — Advert.
