Manawatu Jersey Bull And Heifer Sale
The highest price at the annual Manawatu Jersey bull and heifer sale, on Thursday Was 77-i- guineas for a two-year bull, one offered by Messrs. F. V. Bryant and Sons (Mangatainoka) and purchased by Mr. N. King (Hawera). Best price among the heifers was 50 guineas, paid by Mr. N. J- ' Barrie (Levin) for one offered on accourit of Messrs. H. J. Fourneau and Son (Hastings) . Cautious bidding. despite the large bench of buyers, was a feature of the sale. In the bull section three from Mr. B. R. Robinson's stud at Manakau realised 40, 35 and 21 guineas. Four on account of t?Mr. P. R. Catley (Ohau) brought 37, 31, 30 and 20 guineas. Two on behalf of Mrs. R. W. Evans (Weraroa) brought 36 and 25 guineas. ■ Purchasers of bulls from this district were Mr. L. G. Collett (Levin), who purchased one at 20 guineas and Mr. J. R. McErlean (Levin), who bought one at I2i guineas. ^ . — —
