Notorious Nazi Prisoner Escapes
^ LONDON, Sept. 30. The former adjutant of Otto ("Scarface") Skorzeny, Karl Radil, disappeared from Darmstadt internment camp after an appointment with a dentist, says Reuter's Darmstadt correspondent. Skorzeny, who was the Nazi S.S. offieer who rescued Mussolini in 1943, was described as "the most dangerous inan in Europe." Skorzeny esoaped in Julv from the Darmstadt camp, where he was awaiting trial. The news agency Dena says that it is assumed Radil will attempt to rejoin Skorzeny. The Berlin official Soviet newspaper Taegliche Rundschau stated that Heinz Adrian, former head warder at' the Hammerstein and Sonnenbur concentration camps, had been sentenced to death by the German Criminai Court at Schwerin in the Soviet Zone. The newspaper said that many oi Adrian 's victims were stamped with a rcd hot iron.
