Excellent Day's Tow Of Disabled Ship

AUCKLAND, Oct. 1. Recording an excellent day's run oi 149 miles towing the disabled British freighter Fernmoor, the master of the P. and O. Line motor ship Palana (Captain H. Spurr) commented in his radio message to the Noav Zealand Herald today that he Vvas "working up for the blue riband o'f the PaciflC. ' ' Captain Spurr gave his noon position as 30deg. 14min sbU'th latitude and 157deg 04min west longtitude. A north erly breeze with a light sea had been experienced.
