Australia to Trade With Japan
Received Tliursdav, 11 p.m. CANBERRA, Sept. 30. The Customs Minister, . M r. Courtice, has announced that a trade agreement vith sterling couutries o.f the British Oommonwealth aiiii Japan, has been completed. under which £30,0()0,000_ worth of goods will be exchanged on a sterling basis for goods of equai value. Alr. C'ourtice said the trade pJan provided for approximately £6,000,000 worth of Australian exports to Japan including raw wool, eereals, hooves, liorns and shells. Australia -would iniport from Japan cotton manufactures, raw silk, silk nianufactures rayon nianufactures, iudustrial machiu- ■, ery and electrical appliauoes.
