Foxton's Interest In Royal Tour
At a recent meeting of the Foxton District High School - Committee the headmaster, Mr. S: F. Morrisj referred to the coming Royal1 tour and suggested that the com-. mittee endeavour to ascertain the route to. be followed when the Royal party leaves Ohakea aerodrome for Wellington," with a view >to -enabling the school children toobtain a view of the King and ■Queen as they passed south. The chairman, Mr. H. A. Hannay, said that the route was fixed and no deviation would be made from it. The Royal visitors were to proceed to Palmerston North from Ohakea and leave there by car for Wellington, and he agreeed that it would be a good idea to ascertain which highway would be followed south from • * Palmerston North. The secretary was instructA ed to solicit the information from* the Minister of InternaL Affairs, . If 'the rpute lies through Foxton^: the children " will line the highway; and it is possible that even if it- is via Shannon, similar arrangerrients will be made.
