Persoiial Mrs. C. Bowry, of Mill ,Road, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. W. J. .Kendrick, of Kirk Street, has entered New Plymouth Hospital for treatment. . The funeral of the late Mr. H. P. Freeman took place at Otaki on Wednesday afternoon. Impressive services were held at the Anglican Church and at .the graveside, conducted by Canon H. E. K. Fry. A very large and representative attendance of relatives and friends filled the church, and the funeral cortege was a large one,'a tribute to the high esteem in which deceased was held. Licensed victuallers and their friends were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Cahiil, of ' the Telegraph Hofcel, on Tuesday night, when the opportunity was taken to present Constable W. A. and Mrs. Calwell with a substantial cheque and a gift of crystalware respectively. Tributes were paid to the popiilarity of Mr. and Mrs. Calwell, and those present expressed the wish that they would enjoy a long and -happy retirement. Among the visitors present were Mr; J. Quinn, 6f Levin, and Mr. R. Jones, of Tauranga.
