Women's Section Of R.S.A.
At the' monthly meeting of the Women's Section of the Shannon Returned Services' Association, Mrs. S. W. Barber presided over an attendance of eleven members. Mrs. K. Mitchell was welcomed as a new member. Further preparations were discussed for the Paddy's Market, which wil'l be held in Laurvig's Hall on October 1. Among the interesting features will be a sponge eompetition. The committee will be very grateful for donations for all the stalls, and pffers of help for that dav will be welcomed. The winners of the competi-' tions were: — Article made of felt: Mrs. S. W. Barher 1, Mrs. L. Carter 2, Mrs. R. Quinlan 3. Bloom competitibri: Mrs. W. Third 1, Mesdames Cartei," Sel'l and Griffiths (equal) 2. The competitions for the next meeting will be for an article made from new -or old materials with the price not to exceed 2s 6d. All articles are to be donated to the Paddy's Market. The usual bloom eompetition wi'll also be held. At the conclusion of the meeting afternoon tea was served.
