Racing Committee Reverses Placings
AUCKLAND, Sept. 7. The Auckland District Racing Committee today upheld the appeal of/ . M. Upfold, .owner of The Fake,' against 'the decision of the Avondale Jockey. Clufr in awarding flrst place to , Qstentatious in the Windsor Hurdles at Avondale ou July 17. The appeal . was on the grounds that Ostentatious had interfered with The Fake. The committee reversed the placings, .The Fake beidg placed flrst and ; Ostentatious second. The district committee, on August 3, referred the appeal back to the Avon-: dale committee and on T.uesday of • last week the latter decided not to alter the placings. . On July 24, tlie Avondale committee suspended D. Mackinnon, rider oi Ostentatious, for two months for care-> less riding, liaving found that intejrfer-, ence had occurred, caused or contributed to by Mackinnon. ..
