Received Monday, 11.15 p.m. HOBART, Sept. 6. The Tasmanian Liberal Party wiU nominate a member for the Speaker provided the Labour Party agrees to the formation of a Coalition Government. Replying to the Premier's (Mr. Cosgrove) invitation, the Opposition Leader, Mr. N. Campbell, said he agreed it was the dut/ of all parties to endeavour to see that the stability of the administration was not disrupted. The present state of the House need not lead to a deadlock. His Party was willing to nominate one of its members for election to Speaker on the understanding that the Government was appointed from both Parties and from the Independents, proportionate to Parliamentary representation. He believed there was sufticient community policy on many matters to enable the combined resources to secure a stable administration. ' ! The appointment of a .Speaker from an outside Party would give the Government a majority on the floor of the House. If Labour were compelled to fill the Speakership from its Party, it would have a minority of oue compared with the combined Liberals and. Independents. .. . . ■ ,i .... rtrin jCi rfau
