■* Otaki has enjoyed another particularly mild month, the total rainfall for August being 198 points, compared with 459 points during the same month last year. Rain fell on 11 days and on the remaining 20 days the sun invariably shone brilliantly, with a total absence of wind of any force throughout the month.
