The successes ^vhich Levin canJidates have, gained during the veek at the annual festival of the Manawatu Competitions Society .vere capped yesterday when Therese Quinn ahd Marshall Maher were adjudged the champion girl and boy elocutionist. In addition, Faye Kirkbeck annexed the se* ciety's vocal cup, In the elocution section, Therese Quinn gained first place for girl's recitation, 12 to 14 years, and Barry Walker first in the boy's n.umorous recitation class, 12 -to 17 years. Faye Kirkbeck was hig^ily, commended in the song and character class, 17 to 21 years. In the tap troupe the. Jean Scott School of Dancing was awarded first prize.
