IMrs. Hastedt returned" the best score, while the medai round played, in conj un'ction was won by Mrs.. Richards 011 the pount-back from Mrs. Clarke. Both players- returned cards two below tjqeir handicaps. The first" round of the championships begins on Sqnday next, and the draw" is as foilows: — Miss J. Black v. Mrs. Ryder, Miss Herrick y. Mrs.. Scott, Mrs. H.. Black v. Mrs. piarke, Mrs. Travers ' v. Mrs. Porter. Mrs. "McLennari v. Mrs. Franklin. Mrs. Denton v. Mrs: Larsen, Miss Kilsby v. Mrs. Richards, 'Mrs. Hastedt a bye. The Takapu Cup match played last, week at Buckley resulted in a draw, Levin and Buckley teams each gaining eight points. The next match for 'this cup will be played this month at Levin be.tween teams from Otaki and Levin. Miss AUen reduced her handicap from 25 to 24 at Rotorua durihg the past week. Mrs. Larsen plays Mrs. Franklin in the final round of the Aratang'ata Gup. Members will extend their congratulations to Mrs- Ryder on her recent *go.9(| effQrtr at Wanganui.
