Man Drowned In Fall From Yacht
AUCKLAND, August 22. A man was drowned when he fell firom the yacht La Paloma in rough sea ofi: St. Mary 's Bay, in Auckland Harbour, this afternoon. He was Mr. Bernard Ross MeCoy, aged 27, of Mount Street, Auckland, With five persons on board the yacht was.coming about on a heavy sea preparatory to pieking up her moorings, when the accident occurred. Mx. Darvel McCoy, deceased's brother, stated that the deceased was wdrkiug the jib sheet when a wave struck the * boat eausing it to lurch so that deceased lost Ms footing on the slippery deck and went overboard, The yacht was brought round and a rope thrown to McCov. This proved unavailing so deceased 's brother took the dinghy and piclced him up after difticulty but Bernard McCoy .was dead wheu brought ashore.
