Plenty Of British Tractors Available
WELLINGTON, Aug? 17. "I liave been very surprised Lo read all sorts of stateiiients in New Zealand newspapers recently about tlie nonavailability of tractors from Jiritain. Notliiug could be further from Ihe truth, ■' Mr. A. W. Snelliug, JOeputvHigh Cominissioner, for tlie L'nited Kingdom, toldo today 's annual conference of advortising managers of the Nevvspaper Proprietors' Association. British manufacturers were not only sendiug to New Zealand more tractors this year than ever in the past, but also more than New Zealand had ever linported in any previous year from all the eountries in the world togother," said Mr. Snelliug, "On this business I trust the uien in the trade. What^I know for a fact is that even in those typos of tractors which. are supposed to be most dillicult to get from Britain, namely crawlers, the British manufacturers have offerod New Zealand dealers such nuinbers that experiencd importers feel that the market will be flooded.
