An Outsized Egg A local hen has produced an outsize in eggs, the weight of which is tliree and a half ounces. Although not a record, this is quite a fair effort for an average hen. ■ A Generous Gift Mr. K. Mitchell of East Road, recently made a generous "donation of eight each of Mollis and Ghent azaleas which have been placed to form four- beds in the beautifying area of Plimmer Terrace. The Mollis azalea is the golden flowering variety and with the, Ghent, both importe-d from Holland, should enhance their surroundings considerably. The public of Shannon are grateful to Mr Mitchel'l for his help in beautifying the town. Successful Moutoa Daiice The Moutoa Young Farmers' Qlub held a most successful dance in the Moutoa Hall on Saturday evening. , There was a good atten'dance of the ■ dancing public from all parts of the ■ district. A number of competition ( and novelty dances were held and a •delightful" supper was arranged by . a willing -band of helpers. The « Horowhenua Highland Pipe Band was also present and assisted with ( the dance music.
