Replving to a deputation froui the L'ublic Passenger rl ransport Associatio:. of New Zealand whicli sought relief from the saies ta.x 011 public. pa««enger vehicles, the Minister of Customs (Mr. Xash) has writteu to the association ns follows: — "1 am having invest igationmade with a view to eonsiderttig whether it will be possible during the present session to make some provision for exemption from the saies tax Of t'rplley buses, passenger omnibuses aiid tramcars. You may be assured that tlu matter will bc the sub.ject of the closesi examination, and if- it is possible to make antr alteration in the present rate of taxation I shall be pleased to plncthe matter before the Government for action."
