The Otaki Borough Council on Wednesday night agreed to lay all Ithe fibrolite four-inch pipe at its Idisposal along ithe main highway, ' southwards from. Waerenga Road corner. i This action follows promptly on • the recent fire in this locality, when the shortage of water from I the two-inbh main at present serv- 1 j ing residents was only too apparent. iThe council is to be commended on ; taking steps which will provide f residents with the necessary pro-i itection of an improved water sup-l iply without delay. ! At the meeting, Cr. H. W. Haka-I iraia expressed the view that the ! superlntendent of the Otaki Fire ! Brigade should be consulted before the laying of the pipes commenced. This was agreed to. The pipes will be' laid one foot from the fenceline. '
