Regret At Resignation Of Councillor

At last night's meeting of the Otaki Borough Council, the resignation of Cr. E. T. Bartosh was read. The Mayor, , Mr. C. F. Atmore, [said that the council was exceedlingly ;-sorry that Cr. Bartosh had 1 resigned. He had opposed the removal of lands from the new urban farmlands list, and as a property owner concerned, Cr. Bartosh wished to be free to oppose, if necessary, the exclusion of his land. This he could not do as a councillor withbut embarrassing his fellow councillors. Continuing, Mr. Atmore said that Cr. Bartosh had held the office of chairman of the works committee for the past four years, and had devoted a considerable amount of his valuable time to this office. He had rendered outstanding service, his practical knowledge being of great value to the council. , Mr. Atmore moved that the council record its a'ppreciation of the very good services rendered by Cr. Bartosh, and that a letter of thanks and good wishes be sent to him. Cr. G. McKinley, in seconding the ipaotion, stated that he was pleas|:ed to be associated with the vote of S thanks and appreciation, and jadded that Cr. Bartosh was a man jendowed with a great deal of commonsense, and had at all times been very helpful. Other '•councillors present endorsed the sentiments .of the pfevious speakers.
