The parents' -committee of the Horowhenua Marching Association added fresh laurels to its already iGng list ' of achievements on S'alurday, 'the dccasioh being the first anhual" children's plain and fancy dress ball. • With over 200 children and a ,arge number of adults to provide with tea, the kitchen presented a ousy scene as piates • were being .aden with all sorts of good things cb eat. Mr. H. Podmore, Foxton, - the neWly-eiected patron of the association, who was present for the function, made special mention oftheir work during the course of his remarks prior to the presentation of prizes, and said that all credit was due to the behind the scene workers for the amouht of 'prepara^ tion that had been done to ensure the success of the ball and enjoyment of the children. . The ladies on duty during the day and at the dance at night Were Mesdames J. Perigo (seeret'afy) ," Jenhings-, Scotson, Rbse, Jamieson, P. Young, j. Macfarlane' and A.
